Twitter, a major U.S. social networking service provider, is auctioning off equipment at its headquarters in San Francisco, California.
The auction will include a statue of Twitter’s symbolic bird and other items that may serve as memorials.
Twitter is reorganizing its internal offices and is selling items such as a bird statue and a giant flowerpot with an “@ (at) mark” on it. Some of the items up for auction are less interesting, such as a projector, an iMac display, and a standing desk.
According to Heritage Global Partners, which is assisting with the auction, the auction will begin on January 17 and end the following day, January 18. Initial bids for all items will range from $25 to $50 .
Entrepreneur Elon Musk has implemented a variety of cost-cutting measures since acquiring Twitter for $44 billion. He has laid off about half of his workforce, but some former employees have filed lawsuits claiming that the layoffs violated their labor rights.
