Meghan was “taught how to be a duchess,” British media said.

After Princess Meghan, wife of Prince Harry of Wales, said in the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan” that she was “never taught the rules and etiquette” when she joined the royal family, The Times and other media outlets in the U.K. reported that Meghan was “taught the rules and etiquette of a duchess,” and that she was “not taught the rules and etiquette of a duchess. The Times and other media outlets have pointed out that Meghan’s claim is false, and that she was in fact given a “30-point dossier on how to become a duchess.

In “Harry & Meghan,” Princess Meghan said, “I knew there was a protocol (*courtesy of the Royal Protocol). I remember the movie “The Princess Diaries” with Anne Hathaway. But there was no place or person to teach me how to sit like this, cross my legs like this, bow like this, or wear a hat like this,” she said. He also said that he learned the British national anthem by Googling it.

In an interview with The Times, a source said, “I had to learn how to walk, how to dress, everything. My husband-to-be (Prince Harry) has been through this a million times before, but (since it was Meghan’s first time) we had strong support from everyone around us. It was very critical. The effort that Edward Lane Fox (*Prince Harry’s private secretary at the time) put in to make sure she got help from all kinds of people was immeasurable. He also gave [Meghan] a book about all sorts of things,” he testified.

However, despite Fox’s efforts, Meghan met with experts only twice, once with Baron Christopher Geith, who was Queen Elizabeth’s private secretary from 2007 to 2017, and the other with a “very well-connected and trusted fashion person. (see “The Queen’s Secretaries”).
