Britain’s Prince Andrew, 62, has been kicked out of Buckingham Palace.

The decision was made harshly against his brother, whose scandal has become an issue.

According to local media, King Charles (74) has forbidden the prince, who has retired from royal duties, from setting up an office at the palace in the future. Since his accession to the throne, the king has taken tough decisions against his scandal-plagued brother, including applying to have Prince Andrew removed from the post of counselor of state.

 

The Sun, a British media outlet, reported on December 23 (local time) that “King Charles has removed Prince Andrew from Buckingham Palace after he was disgraced in a sexual scandal.

 

Prince Andrew announced in 2019 that he would step down from his royal public duties after his friendship with U.S. billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was arrested for trafficking in underage girls and died in custody; in August 2021, a civil suit was filed against him for alleged sexual abuse of then 17-year-old Virginia Jouffrey, who was In August 2021, a civil lawsuit was filed against Virginia Juffrey, then 17 years old.

 

Furthermore, in January of this year, the palace announced that it would strip the prince of his military honorary rank and his position as patron of a charitable organization, among other things. In response to the scandal, King Charles has forbidden Prince Andrew, who is no longer an active member of the royal family, from having an office at Buckingham Palace or using the palace address for documents.

 

A source of the media outlet revealed that this is the case: “The King has made this clear: his activities in the Palace are officially over. He (Prince Andrew) is not an active royal. He is independent,” he stated.

 

Prince Andrew is currently recruiting a new communications team to restore his reputation that has lost ground. He will be paying for his staff and other expenses out of his own pocket in the future.

 

In November of this year, King Charles requested that his sister Princess Anne and youngest brother Prince Edward be added as “counsellors of state” in place of Prince Andrew and Prince Henry, who have retired from royal duties.

 

In addition, this month, Queen Camilla took over the position of colonel of the Grenadier Guards, an infantry regiment of the Kingsguard, formerly held by Prince Andrew.

 

On December 25, the day of Christmas, the King will host a family gathering at his residence in Sandringham, Norfolk, England, and Prince Andrew is expected to attend.
