Justin Bieber has sold his publishing and recording music rights for more than $200 million.

Justin’s greatness has just begun.

According to Variety, Justin Bieber has sold 290 songs released by December 31, 2021, to Hipgnosis Songs Capital, a British music IP investment and song management company.

 

The impact Justin Bieber has had on global culture over the past 14 years has been truly astonishing,” Merc Mercuriadis, founder and CEO of Hipgnosis Songs Capital, told Variety.

 

Mercuriadis added, “This acquisition is one of the biggest deals ever for an artist under 70, and with approximately 82 million monthly listeners and over 30 billion streams on Spotify alone, the power of this amazing catalog (copyright) is immeasurable. Scooter Braun has helped him build a spectacular music copyright, and we are delighted to welcome Justin and his wonderful songs and recordings to Hipgnosis Songs Capital,” he said.

 

Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, added, “I want to thank Merck, his entire team, and all the partners involved for working so hard to make this historic deal happen. When Justin made the decision to sign the catalog contract, I knew immediately that Merck and ‘Hipgnosis Songs Capital’ were the best partners to preserve and grow this wonderful legacy. 15 years on, I am grateful to have been a part of this journey, and today is a I am grateful to have been a part of this journey for 15 years, and today is a happy day for everyone involved. Justin’s greatness has only just begun.

 

Speaking of Scooter Braun, in an interview last year he revealed that he regretted his purchase of Taylor Swift’s copyright. No comment has yet been made by Justin himself on this matter.
