Avril Lavigne and her fiancé Mod Sun have broken up, Page Six and other news outlets are reporting.
According to a new report by Page Six, Avril’s representative confirmed the breakup on February 21 (local time). The breakup came as a surprise to Mod Sun, according to the report.
‘They were together and still engaged as of three days before he [Mod Sun] left for tour. If anything had changed from that point, it would be news to him,” commented Mod-San’s representative. However, Mod-San has no intention of slowing down with regard to his work. The show will go on tonight, tomorrow, and for the rest of the tour,” the agent added.
Avril and Mod Sun collaborated on the song “Flames,” which was released in January 2021, and they also performed together in a music video. This led to them spending time together.
They later made their red carpet debut at the MTV Video Music Awards and announced their engagement last April. At the time, Avril posted a photo on Instagram of when Mod Sun proposed to her in Paris. There were several photos of Mod-Saint kneeling on one knee in front of the Eiffel Tower and Avril smiling and kissing him while showing off her heart-shaped engagement ring. She captioned the photos, “Oui,” and in French, “I love you forever.”

According to Page Six, Avril and Mod Sun had been having problems for the past few months, breaking up and making up several times. However, they eventually decided to end the relationship for good.
According to TMZ, the breakup was not caused by “cheating. And since the two were still following each other on social networking sites as of February 21 (local time), some people thought that the breakup was amicable.
Speaking of Avril, last weekend she was seen getting cozy with rapper Tyga at Nobu in Malibu, California.
