Why Jay Ellis, who played Payback, quit modeling

Jay Ellis, who played Payback in the movie “Top Gun Maverick,” was a model before becoming an actor. Jay reflected on the event that led him to quit modeling on the U.S. talk show “The Jennifer Hudson Show”.

Jay, who was living under one roof with 16 other models at the time, said of the model-filled communal living situation, “There were people of all ages, from about 16 years old at the bottom to 36 at the top. It was like all the nasty things had gathered in one building. People are nasty no matter how old they are, but (since there was a wide range of ages) all kinds of nasty things were gathered there (laughs).

He said that when he went to the audition site for one of the underwear ads, there were many models waiting in line in the hallway for their turn, and when he entered the room, there were three judges, a chair and a pair of underwear on it. He explained the audition process as follows: “You go in, say your name, have your picture taken, turn your back to the judges, pull down your pants, and put on the underwear that was on the chair with your buttocks in full view of the judges. When it was his turn, he suddenly realized something.

I realized that about 25 people had already tried on this pair of underwear. And maybe 15 people tried them on after I put them on. I lived with 16 of those bastards, so I know how filthy they are.

After Jay said this, a near shriek of “Oh!

Incidentally, he added, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been here. My parents didn’t work hard to raise me for this,” Jay turned down the audition and left the modeling industry.
