Popular comedian Chris Rock has finally unleashed a joke about the Will Smith slap incident, which has become a hot topic.
On 4 March (US time), Chris Rock’s stand-up comedy special ‘Chris Rock: Selective Outrage’ was broadcast live on Netflix.

In the special, Chris looks back on the slapping incident that happened to him at last year’s 94th Academy Awards ceremony.
Comedian Chris .Rock, who was presenting at the ceremony, made a joke on stage about Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair.
Will was furious at the comment, and suddenly went on stage and gave Chris a ‘slap’. Unable to control his anger, Will then continued to abuse Chris using off-air language.
In the special, Chris said, “People say ‘words hurt people’. ‘ People who say that have never been punched in the face!” He recalled Will’s behaviour and laughed about it.
Chris added: “We’re trying to put on a show without offending anyone. You never know who’s going to be triggered,” and he also brought up the US-Russia relationship, which is said to be the worst since the Cold War, saying, “The US is so fucked up that if the Russians came here now, half the country would be like, ‘Let’s hear them out'”.
Chris’s jokes about Will are far from over.
Chris said, “People ask, ‘Did it (the slap) hurt?’ They ask me, ‘Did it (the slap) hurt? It still hurts! I’ve got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears!” He joked about Will’s 1991 song ‘Summertime’ and added: “I took that blow like (former professional boxer) Manny Pacquiao!” he said strongly, to which the audience laughed.
“It still hurts.”

The title of this show is ‘Selective Outrage’. This refers to the selfish and inconsistent attitude of being outraged about some issues and dismissing others, depending on personal preferences and ideas. Chris seems to want to argue that Will’s slap to Chris was exactly this selective rage.
Chris also seems to believe that Will’s behaviour in slapping himself was not triggered by a joke he made at the Oscars, but by Will and Jada’s frizzy marital relationship.
In the past, Will and Jada have been open about the ups and downs of their relationship as a couple, and Jada has admitted to having an affair with another man.
On this, Chris said, “We’ve all had affairs. All of us here have cheated on each other. None of us have ever been interviewed on TV by a cheating partner. She (Jada) has hurt him (Will) more than he (Will) has hurt me” and bashed Jada’s behaviour.
Some people who watched the show felt that Chris had finally got over the pain of the incident and turned it into a laugh.
