Actor Paul Grant, who appeared in the Star Wars and Harry Potter film series, has passed away, aged 56.

Paul’s daughter, Sophie Jayne Grant, told Sky News that she was “heartbroken” after acknowledging the news of his death, and added: “No girl could ever accept that her father would be snatched away. He was so well known and loved. It is too soon for him to pass away”, she added.

According to Sky News, Paul was diagnosed brain dead after collapsing at a London train station on Thursday 16 March. He was later confirmed dead on 20 March.

Paul collapsed at St Pancras station on Euston Road. Sky News has confirmed that the London Ambulance Service had arrived at the scene. Paul was immediately taken to hospital but never regained consciousness, and on Sunday 19 March, his family took the decision to take him off life support.

Sophie Jayne Grant told The Sun newspaper that she was “devastated” and revealed her heartache: “My father was a legend in every sense of the word. He always made us laugh and put a smile on everyone’s face. He is the kind of person who would do anything for others,” he said of Paul’s character.

Paul played an Ewok in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi and a Goblin in the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. He also co-starred with David Bowie in the 1986 film Labyrinth.

Paul’s sudden death has been greeted with a sense of sadness by those around him.

Maria Dwyer, his girlfriend, told The Sun: ‘Paul was the love of my life. The most interesting man I have ever known. He made my life complete. Life without him will never be the same”.
