Stranger Things is set to end with season five, which will begin filming in June this year.

Meanwhile, there are apparently plans for a spin-off film. However, Millie is said to have turned down a role in the film version. The Sun reports that the fee was £10 million (about 1.612 billion JPY).

The truth is unclear, as Netflix has not acknowledged this, but Millie told US-based Seventeen magazine earlier this month that she was ready to end the show.

‘I’m definitely ready to end it. I feel like a lot of the story has been told and we all know it. (Stranger Things has been in our lives for a very long time. But I am ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open a new one. I can create my own stories that matter to me and focus on things from a bigger perspective. But I’m very grateful [to the programme].”

Millie also said in the same interview that she is currently concentrating on university life.

As for Stranger Things, a spin-off series is in production, and a stage production titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow will be staged in the West End of London, UK, later this year.

Stranger Things: The Unknown World is available on Netflix.

[Updated Friday 24 March] The Stranger Things writing team reacted to this report. On Twitter, they wrote: “Oh, there is nothing true in this article. I don’t know why we have to keep denying these rumours, but hey, get some clicks in!!!” He posted, denying the reports.
