The Harry Potter series is coming back as a drama? A reboot of the series, which has been rumoured for some time, is close to becoming a reality.
Drama version of the Harry Potter series one step closer to getting off the ground
We reported in 2021 that a dramatic version of the Harry Potter series might be produced by Warner Bros Discovery’s streaming service HBO Max, and now we are one step closer to the start of a dramatic version, according to major US media outlets such as Bloomberg and major US media outlets such as Variety have reported.
In the case of a sequel to the Harry Potter series, which still enjoys strong popularity more than a decade after the release of the last film, the head of Warner Bros. has stated that he would like “more Harry Potter films” if the author J.K. Rowling agrees to do so. ” and there have been constant calls for a stage adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with the original cast of the film version for some time.
Ms Rowling’s original stories on which the film version was based are Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but according to Bloomberg, the drama version will be based on the original story, just like the film, and will portray one book per season.
Incidentally, Warner Bros and Rowling are currently in discussions and no deal has been signed yet, but if the drama adaptation goes ahead, it will find a new cast to play Harry, Ron and Hermione.
“You-Know-Who” is in favour of a reboot!
Despite the controversy surrounding the reboot, Rupert Grint, who played the main character’s best friend Ron in the film version, is in favour of the idea, saying: “I would love to see ‘Harry Potter’ made into a TV show. I think it would definitely work. I think the films will be remade anyway,” he said in an interview published in British GQ in January this year.
On the other hand, however, he added: “There is a feeling that I would like to pass the baton and have someone else play Ron. But I’m very overprotective when it comes to him [Ron], so it would be strange [for someone else to play him]. I could relate to him so much and I was chosen to bring him to life. It’s hard to let that go. It’s hard to let go of that, but maybe it’s good to do that,” he says, revealing some mixed feelings about having someone else play Ron.
