Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler has denied allegations that he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old woman in 1973 and forced her to have an abortion.
Steven was accused of victimisation by a woman named Julia Holcombe in 2022.
She alleged that she began a sexual relationship with Tyler shortly after his 16th birthday in 1973. Tyler was 25 at the time; in 1975, when Holcombe was 17, she became pregnant with Tyler’s son and claimed that Tyler forced her to have an abortion.
And according to newly obtained documents by Rolling Stone magazine, Stephen recently filed a lengthy rebuttal to this claim in the December 2022 lawsuit. The plaintiff claims that she consented to their sexual relationship and that he had immunity as her legal guardian at the time.
Stephen, now 75, denied the allegations, citing 24 affirmative defences, and requested that the lawsuit be dismissed.
At one point, Stephen argued that the plaintiff, Julia Missouri (formerly known as Julia Holcombe), “has not suffered any injury or damage as a result of any act by the defendant”. He further noted that “if the plaintiff is found to have suffered any injury, such injury was not caused by the defendant”.
Speaking of Stephen, he was absent from The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Power of Love, where he was due to be honoured, following reports of an alleged sexual assault decades ago.
He also said in a previous memoir, “The parents (of the girl) fell in love with me and signed papers for me to have custody of her. So I can’t get arrested for taking her out of state”, “I almost took a teen bride”, and “I took her on tour”, he wrote.
