Aaron Carter, also known as the brother of former idol and Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, was found dead in the bathroom tub of his home in Lancaster, California, US, on 5 November 2022 local time.

Aaron’s family claimed that the autopsy showed no water in Aaron’s lungs, so he did not drown, and his mother said that Aaron died as a result of a crime, but the coroner’s office released the cause of death.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, Aaron took prescription drugs in the bathtub of his home and inhaled propellant used in compressed air cans. It then announced that when he entered the bathtub under the influence of the drugs, he became stuck in the bathtub and eventually sank into the bathtub and drowned. With this announcement, Aaron’s death was officially ruled as an accidental death.

However, Melanie Martin, Aaron’s ex-fiancee and mother of his two children, was not happy with the announcement: ‘The coroner’s findings are not satisfactory to me. The cause of death is stated as drowning, but it also says that she was wearing a T-shirt and necklace in the bathtub, so it doesn’t make sense why she would get into the bathtub with her clothes on. Why would she enter the bathtub with her clothes on? I am still in shock and miss Aaron every day. I don’t understand the sequence of events and this report only makes us ask more questions,” he told TMZ.
