Sum41 break up after world tour.

Canadian pop-punk band Sum41, who have released hits such as the songs ‘Fat Lip’, ‘In Too Deep’ and ‘Still Waiting’, are set to take part in various festivals from 1 June and will tour with Offspring and Simple Plan from August. They will be touring with Offspring and Simple Plan from August.

Sum41, who are still actively playing festivals and touring, suddenly announced on SNS that they are breaking up.

Full text of Sum41’s break-up comment.

「Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments of our lives. We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in every way. It is hard to articulate the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear this from us first

Sum 41will be disbanding. We will still be finishing all of our current upcoming tour dates this year, and we’re looking forward to releasing our final album “Heaven:x:Hell,”along with  a final worldwide headlining tour to celebrate. Details will be announced as soon as we have them.

For now, we look forward to seeing all of you skumfuks (*a nickname for Sum 41’s fans) on the road and are excited for what the future will bring for each of us.

Thank you for the last 27 years of Sum 41.」

Although the break-up was announced now, it seems that the band will not really break up until after their world tour in support of their last album, Heaven :x: Hell. Originally scheduled to perform at PUNKSPRING in Makuhari Messe and Intex Osaka in March 2023, the tour was cancelled, so we really hope that they will come to Japan on their last tour.
