Why Harrison Ford returned to the role of Indiana Jones.

Harrison Ford, who plays Indiana Jones, told Variety why he decided to appear in the latest film in the series, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, due to be released on 30 June.

‘[The sequel] is something I’ve always wanted to do. I wanted to do a continuation to see how his [Indy’s] career ended.”

Harrison added at a recent press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, “I wanted to complete [Indy’s] story” and “I wanted to see him feel the weight of life after relying on his youth and momentum. I wanted to see him demanding reform and supporting someone else”, explaining his reasons for stepping in. Referring to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who plays the film’s heroine Helena, she added: “I wanted him to have a deeper relationship with her, not a flirtatious one [that would lead to romance]”.

It should be noted that the previous four films, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Harrison, who has played the titular character Indiana Jones in the last four Skull films, has stated that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Doom will be his last film as Indy.

Incidentally, Harrison, who has strong feelings about the role of Indiana, has previously stated that when Chris Pratt’s name was mentioned as a possible candidate for the new Indiana Jones, “There’s nobody else who could play Indiana Jones but me. When Chris Pratt’s name was mentioned as a candidate for the role of the new Indiana Jones, Harrison once drew attention by saying, “If I’m gone, he’s gone too.
