Singer Adele, who bought the house where actor Sylvester Stallone lived, originally asked for the “Rocky statue” that was in the house to be given to her as well.
Adele’s conditions for buying the house from Sylvester Stallone.
Actor Sylvester Stallone, known for his role as Rocky Balboa in the “Rocky” film series, revealed the story behind the sale of his house in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
The house was bought from Sylvester by Adele, a singer known for hit songs such as “Rolling in the Deep” and “Hello,” and the purchase price was reportedly $58 million (approximately 8.2 billion yen at the current rate).
The house that Sylvester owned is known for having a “Rocky statue” near the swimming pool, but when he sold the house, he gave up the statue. When asked if he did not want to take the statue of Rocky with him when he moved out of the house, a role that is very dear to him, Sylvester replied, “I wanted to take it with me. But Adele didn’t agree,” he continued.
“She said, ‘If you don’t leave [the statue], we can’t make a deal. She said, ‘If you don’t keep the statue, I’m going to have to break the deal. She wanted the statue.
So the Rocky statue will remain in Sylvester’s original home (Adele’s home).
The house that Adele purchased from Sylvester is currently being renovated, and according to Entertainment Tonight, the work is quite extensive, with most of it being dismantled and the framework removed. Of that, Sylvester said, “I think it’s nice. She’s making (the house) gorgeous,” she said.
