Blake recently announced the release of an alcoholic beverage from her brand Betty Buzz*.

She said, “I’m not a big fan of alcohol. But it tastes great,” she captioned the announcement, which raised many eyebrows.

*”Betty Buzz” is a non-alcoholic mixer that Blake announced in 2021.

This is because Blake has told PEOPLE in the past that she herself does not drink, saying that she does not like the effects of alcohol, that she feels better sober, and that it is interesting that she sometimes feels a little alienated by not drinking.

The Instagram post was immediately met with a flurry of criticism. “I don’t drink, but you should…you mean?” How can you create and market a product that you don’t consume yourself? and other comments.

Blake captioned it, “Homemade recipe. Real fruit. Real ingredients. Quality alcohol. No crap. Saves time,” she promoted. Incidentally, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, owns the gin brand Aviation American Gin.

Also like Blake this time, Jennifer Lopez has been on fire in the past. When she announced the launch of her alcohol brand Delola, many fans pointed out that Jennifer doesn’t drink. Comments like, “Wow, this is disappointing,” “But you literally don’t drink alcohol, do you?” She received comments such as, “You’re a gold-digger.”
