Billy Porter, known for “POSE” and “Cinderella” (2021), has ended her six-year marriage to husband Adam Smith.
Billy’s agent, Simon Halls, told People on July 5 local time, “Billy Porter and her husband, Adam Smith, have made the sad decision to end their six-year marriage.
The decision was made amicably, mutually beneficial, and after much thought and consideration,” and they went on to say that they both want their privacy.
Billy and Adam met at a dinner party in 2009, but their relationship broke up a year later; looking back on the early days of their romance, Billy told People that they were “crazy” about each other but broke up as soon as they started getting more serious. However, they rekindled their romance five years later. They eventually became engaged in January 2017.
In the years since their marriage, Adam has accompanied Billy on various red carpets. Billy is known for his iconic looks at the 2020 Grammy Awards, as well as his gender-bending fashion over the years.

Billy and Adam have no children, but they share a cockatiel named Lola.
Speaking of Billy, he has revealed in the past that he is HIV-positive; when interviewed in 2021, he said he felt embarrassed about being diagnosed as positive in 2007. Also in “POSE,” Play Tell, who plays Billy, said that upon learning he was positive, “This was the moment I feared the most. And I’ve avoided it. For years. I’ve been avoiding it for years, and finally that bastard caught up with me,” he says in one scene. Billy, with tears in his eyes, revealed that he was not just acting, but expressing “both” his real life and his character.
