Musician Jack White criticized former President Donald Trump for being “disgusting” after several celebrities shook his hand at a celebrity-studded mixed martial arts event.
He barked at Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson.
Many celebrities gathered at the mixed martial arts event “UFC 290” held on July 8 in Las Vegas. Among them, former U.S. President Donald Trump drew the most attention. The appearance of the president, which came as a surprise even to the host of the live broadcast, caused a stir at the venue. He waved and shook hands as he sat in front of the Octagon.
The next day, Jack White, vocalist for The White Stripes, updated his Instagram page with a photo of former President Trump at UFC 290, along with photos of actors Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg and host Joe Rogan, and then exploded with anger, saying
“Anyone who “normalizes” (*normalizes*) or treats this ugly, fascist, racist, fraudulent, disgusting piece of scum, Trump, with even the slightest bit of respect is, in my mind, equally ugly. Joe Rogan, Mel Gibson, Mark Wahlberg, Guy Fieri. This is my statement, not an argument or debate.”
Jack was upset that Mark, Joe, and Guy Fieri, the cook, had gone to former President Trump to shake his hand that day. Mel was not in the audience that day, but was the subject of criticism because he had saluted former President Trump when he met him at another UFC event.
