Members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers praise ” Otoboke Beaver

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, who played their first solo show in Japan in 16 years in February to great success, are currently on tour in Europe.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer, Chad Smith, and bassist, Flea, both praised the Japanese band on social networking sites.

The band is a Otoboke Beaver with many fans in Japan and abroad. Formed after meeting in a music club at Ritsumeikan University, Otoboke Beaver has been active not only in Japan but also overseas, and their powerful stage presence is popular.

Chad uploaded a video of Kaho Kiss, the drummer of Otoboke Beaver, performing on his Instagram Stories, and Free tweeted, ” Otoboke Beaver only exists. Everyone else get out of the way,” he tweeted.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have also featured Japanese metal idol Babymetal as a frontliner for their live shows, and now that Chad and Free have praised the band’s performance, expectations are high for the possibility of the band appearing as a frontliner for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters said, “Look at the music video for the song ‘Don’t Light My Fire’ by the Japanese punk rock band Otoboke Beaver. It’s a song that will knock your socks off. It will take your breath away. It’s the most intense thing I’ve ever seen,” he commented on Vulture. Iggy Pop also introduced the song on his radio show “Iggy Confidential,” and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich played “Love is Short” as his favorite song on his radio show “It’s Electric!
