Kevin Spacey, the actor best known for his role in “House of Cards,” has been charged with sexually assaulting four men.
He recently testified at a trial in London, claiming that he touched the men who claimed to be victims of sexual assault in a “romantic” way.
According to CNN, Kevin said, “He was funny and charming and flirty. Over time, we … perhaps I began to touch him in a more romantic and intimate way,” he said in court. Kevin also claimed that he and the man were together in a consensual manner and explained the specific details of how the relationship developed.
He testified, “It gradually became sexual over time, but to be clear, we didn’t actually have sex because he made it clear that he didn’t want it to go any further.” She added, “I liked him a lot. We had a good time together. We laughed a lot”.
However, the accused did not seem to have the same feelings toward Kevin. The man, whose anonymity is protected under British law, reportedly called Kevin a “sexual predator. He claimed that Kevin “grabbed his crotch once while driving and tried to seduce him,” according to NBC.
However, Kevin felt betrayed by the accused, stating in court, “I never thought he would betray me after 20 years.”
Kevin was indicted in June 2022 on charges of sexually assaulting four men during his tenure as artistic director of the Old Vic Theater in London from 2004 to 2015. According to reports, the victims, now in their 30s and 40s, do not know each other, but all allegedly “had the misfortune” of attracting Kevin’s attention.
Kevin denies these charges and has pleaded not guilty to all 12 counts; Kevin, who came out as gay in 2017, has said he is “confident” he can prove his innocence in court.
