It became one of the ways we bonded.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Noah, who will debut his album “The Hardest Part” on September 16, opens up about his Xanax addiction, which began in 2020, and his subsequent recovery.

Noah said that what got him hooked on Xanax* in the first place was when his boyfriend gave him his first Xanax when he was 18 years old. Noah told the magazine, “It became one way for us to bond.

*Xanax…(generic name alprazolam) a medication used to treat symptoms such as anxiety, nervousness, depression, and sleep disorders.

‘I think I wanted to be the right person for him. I wanted to be what he wanted, what he thought was cool, and what he thought everyone else was doing.”

Noah said he was surrounded at the time by people who had easy access to Xanax, and he preferred taking it to the drugs he would use at parties.

He said, “If you feel that it’s possible to shut things down a little bit, to paralyze the pain, then you’re done. It’s like falling into a dark hole, a bottomless swamp.”

As a result of taking large doses of Xanax, Noah began to suffer from memory problems, such as sleeping all day and losing track of days. When the new coronavirus broke out, Noah’s symptoms peaked and he began to have trouble living, fainting during interviews and not being able to properly face the death of his beloved grandmother.

She said, “When my grandmother died, I felt guilty for not being there. Physically she was there, but emotionally I wasn’t. (I couldn’t be [there].”

It was at this point that Noah finally realized that he had been keeping loved ones and those in need away from him.

Shortly thereafter, Noah took her first steps toward recovery. She says that it was her love of music that helped her with her Xanax addiction. The song “Noah (Stand Still)” from the album “The Hardest Part,” which Noah began working on six months after seeking help, expresses her mixed emotions at the time.

She wrote, “When I turned 20 / I was overwhelmed by the thought that I might not make it to 21 / Death is on my doorstep / If I take one more step / There’s nothing left for me but these songs.”

Noah’s debut album, “The Hardest Part,” which expresses the giddy emotions of loss, heartbreak, and confusion he has experienced in his life, is scheduled for release on September 16.
