Harry Styles has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s “Top Tours” chart for June 2023. This is the first time he has reached #1 on the chart for the month, and the timing is just right.

The “Love On Tour,” which began in September 2021 as one of the first tours to resume after the pandemic, ended on July 22.

According to figures reported by the “Billboard Boxscore” tour chart, the last month of performances grossed $105.4 million and sold 967,000 tickets. The first time a show has earned nine-figure monthly box office receipts since Bad Bunny’s [World’s Hottest Tour] in September 2022, earning $123.7 million (¥17.2 billion). He also set a new monthly attendance record since the chart began in February 2019, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s 750,000 in June 2022 and Coldplay’s 736,000 in March of this year.

Harry’s [Love On Tour] has moved up the ranks to stadiums for the European dates after two years of touring primarily in arenas for the majority of the tour. Typically, stadium shows are fewer in number due to complex production logistics and higher nightly attendance.

Harry’s topped the competitive June field with 15 stadium performances in June. Other artists in the Top 30, including The Cure (20 shows), Matchbox Twenty (16 shows), Shania Twain (16 shows), and Dead & Company (15 shows), had a mix of arena and amphitheater concert venues, but ranked second and third stadium-class artists Beyonce and Coldplay had 12 and 11 performances, respectively.

The overcrowded schedule, combined with record crowds, helped Harry break the record: four shows at Wembley Stadium in London, England, on June 13, 14, 16, and 17, grossed $36.4 million and sold 335,000 tickets. Thanks to these numbers, the band once again overtook Coldplay and Beyoncé in second and third place, and secured the number one spot on the “Top Boxscores” chart.

In Amsterdam and Paris, the show earned $16.5 million and $14.2 million, respectively, while the two-day box office at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, grossed $12.2 million. These results were followed by #8, #12, and #15 in the Top Boxscores, respectively.

While this is Harry’s first time at #1 for the month, he has been a consistent performer in the Top Tours for the past two years; June is his 12th month in the Top 5, including three times at #2 and five times at #3. Previously, he peaked last year with an attendance of 419,000 this month and $54.4 million in box office receipts in September 2022.

These June shows brought the [Love On Tour] total box office to $566.2 million, and a few more shows in July pushed it to $590.3 million. With four shows remaining, Harry’s tour will become the fourth highest grossing tour in Boxscore history and likely the fourth highest grossing $600 million tour.

Harry was #3 in the Top Tours rankings in May. His move to the top of the list dropped Beyonce and Coldplay, who were the Top 2 artists that month, to second and third place, despite the fact that both artists saw significant growth in June. Beyonce earned $86.9 million (up 29% from last month) and Coldplay earned $71.5 million (up 30%).

Harry, Beyonce, and Coldplay are in the Top 7 for the biggest monthly box office in the chart’s history, all of which have grossed over $70 million. Bad Bunny, Def Leppard & Motley Crue, and The Weeknd all grossed $70 million in August 2022, with Bad Bunny’s September box office that year being the highest grossing month of all time.

June’s Top Tours rankings were record-breaking beyond Harry’s attendance and the Top 3’s huge box office numbers: 27 tours grossed $10 million or more, up from 24 last month; 14 tours grossed $20 million, a near-record number; 14 tours grossed $20 million, the most in the history of the Top 3, up from 14 in the previous month; and 14 tours grossed $20 million, the most in the history of the Top 3. In addition, June saw $30 million, $40 million, $50 million, $60 million, $70 million, and $80 million+ tours set new records or tied old records.

Some of the $10 million earners represent genres other than Boxscore’s typical pop, rock, and Latin headliners. Hans Zimmer, at No. 32 with $12.3 million and 116,000 ticket sales, is one of three non-vocalists on the chart. He has toured with large symphony orchestras and recreated some of his most iconic music, including “The Lion King,” “Inception,” and “The Dark Knight.”

At No. 26, Illenium is the only dance/electronic artist on the list, selling $10.1 million and 132,000 tickets for 15 shows. His June tour began in San Francisco, CA, on June 1 and traveled to the West Coast, Midwest, and Texas, with a show at Austin’s Moody Center on June 30.

And in 30th place, violinist and composer André Rieu sold $8.7 million and 90,000 tickets. Rieu, who has quietly remained one of the most consistent headliners, charted a high of No. 5 in January 2020, and this is his 21st month on the chart.
