A spin-off of “Star Wars” Lando Calrissian, planned and developed by Donald Glover!

Donald Glover, who played the young Lando in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” is developing a spin-off drama starring Lando Calrissian, a popular character in the “Star Wars” film series (to be distributed on Disney Plus), Variety and other media reported. Variety and other media reported.

Lando Calrissian is a galactic outlaw who first appeared in “The Empire Strikes Back”.

The project, which was officially announced by Lucasfilm in December 2020, initially included Justin Simien, director of Disney’s live-action “The Horned Mansion”. However, according to Variety, Justin has already left the project, and Donald signed on to replace him before the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.

Donald will write the script for the drama along with his own brother, Stephen Glover. The two were named executive producers of the drama “Atlanta,” which became their signature work.

Lando Calrissian is a galactic outlaw who first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back. He was played by Billy Dee Williams in the old trilogy and Episode IX, “Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker,” and the “Han Solo” spin-off depicted the young Lando as Donald.
