On Saturday, June 24, Madonna was found unconscious at her home in New York, and was rushed to the ICU.

Four days later, Madonna’s longtime manager Guy Oseary reported on Instagram that Madonna had developed a “serious bacterial infection” and was hospitalized. He announced that all activities, including the planned “Celebration” world tour, would be temporarily suspended.

About a month later, Madonna updated her social networking service with a video of herself dancing to the 1984 hit “Lucky Star. The caption read, “Now that I can move my body and dance just a little bit, I feel like the luckiest star in the world! She added, “Thank you to all my fans, all my friends! You must be my lucky star too! She added, “I feel like the luckiest star in the world for having just danced a little bit!

A few days later, Madonna posted a photo on Instagram with her beloved children. The love from family and friends is the best medicine. It’s been a month since I left the hospital and I can look back,” Madonna added, revealing that her children and friends were behind her recovery.

She continued, “As a mother, I can get busy with the demands of my children and their seemingly endless devotion…. But when the time came, my children stood up for me. I saw a side of them I had never seen before. It was a complete change.”

Madonna also reported that she could not stop crying when Oseary gave her “a Polaroid photo taken by Andy Warhol of Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face on it. Revealing the reason for this, “I realized how lucky I am to be alive,” Madonna also wrote that she realized “how lucky I was to know the people around me and the many people who have left this world.

Madonna concluded her post by writing, “Thank you to all the angels who protected me and let me stay to finish my work. Everyone is waiting for her full recovery.
