Bella, who has about 60 million followers, is said to make up to $23,000 per sponsored post.

The court papers state that the professional photographer who took the photo spent a great deal of time and money on his portfolio, and that Bella used the copyrighted photo without permission and directly benefited financially without payment to its rightful owner. Incidentally, Bella, who has about 60 million followers, is said to earn up to $23,000 per sponsored post.

The document states. “Plaintiff did not grant Defendant the right to use its photograph in any manner whatsoever, nor did it assign to Defendant any exclusive rights with respect to its copyright.”

With regard to the photo dated August 12, 2020, in which Bella is wearing glasses and a pink coat outside a building, plaintiffs are seeking damages and an injunction against Bella regarding the use of their work. No comment from Bella herself has been forthcoming at this time.

Meanwhile, three years ago Bella posted a photo on Instagram of herself wearing a black and white checkered Tommy Hilfiger hat, and was sued by Timur Missive, who owns the copyright to that photo. Missieve claimed that Bella had no right to post that photo and that her own copyright had been violated, and the case was quickly settled out of court.
