Billy told the Evening Standard that he is selling his house.

‘Because we’re on strike. And I don’t know when I’ll be able to go back.” “The life of an artist is until you make great money…I haven’t made any money yet…but I have to live just under my salary. I was supposed to be in a new movie and a new TV show starting in September, but none of that has happened.”

Billy also referred to a July report in Deadline magazine. In that report, an anonymous studio executive said the studio’s “last resort” was to prolong the strike until “union members start losing their apartments and losing their homes.”

Billy said, “I want to say to the people who said, ‘We’re going to starve them until they have to sell their apartments. You already starved me,'” he complained.

The Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild of America have been on strike since May and July, respectively. Both Hollywood unions are demanding better pay and protections against AI in the streaming era and are trying to reach a contract agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

NBC News reported that Hollywood screenwriters and actors are struggling financially as the strike continues.

Billy also called out Disney CEO Bob Iger during the interview. Bob has been criticized for telling CNBC that the actors’ strike is “very disturbing” and that the expectations of the strikers are “unrealistic.”

“To hear Bob Iger say that our demands for a living wage are unrealistic … when he’s making $78,000 a day? I said,” Billy told the Evening Standard. He cursed, “I don’t know what to say, but all I can say is go fuck yourself.”
