On August 8, U.S. time, the trial of Canadian rapper Lanez, who was charged with shooting rapper Meghan Thee Stallion, was held and the court sentenced Tory to 10 years in prison.

On July 12, 2020, Megan and Tory attended a party together at the home of businesswoman and reality star Kylie Jenner, and although the two have denied that they were romantically involved, some sources say they were secretly dating. On their way home from the party, the two got into an argument over a trivial matter of not leaving early. Later, when Megan got out of the car they were in, Tory shouted, “Dance, bitch,” and shot at Megan’s feet. The bullet hit Megan in the heel.

I thought there would be a stay of execution. Tory will continue to fight. Tory also later updated his official Instagram page. ‘In court this week, I accepted full responsibility for every word and intimate moment I had with anyone involved in this case. In no way, shape or form did I apologize for the charges I was wrongfully convicted of. My stance remains that I will not apologize for something I did not do.

Although Meghan did not appear in court for the trial, she did share her feelings during an interview with Rolling Stones in 2021, saying, “I want Tory to go to jail,” among other things.
