TMZ reports that the woman is now suing Lizzo, alleging that she was told racist and fat-hating comments by members of Lizzo’s team and worked very long hours.
According to legal documents obtained by the site, the woman who is suing was hired by Lizzo team member Amanda Nomura to tour with Lizzo in 2023, claiming that working for Lizzo involved considerable sacrifice and that she would work from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM without a break. She claims that working for Lizzo was quite a sacrifice and that she sometimes worked from 6 am to 2 am without a break. And the accuser, who is a black woman, alleges that Amanda routinely made racist and fat-hating remarks and called her “dumb, useless, and fat” on tour.
The accuser also revealed that her boyfriend, Mike Wright, placed restrictions on her clothing, telling her not to wear sexy clothes because Lizzo would get jealous when she was around other beautiful women.
As a result of these experiences, this woman claims to have fatigue and ongoing anxiety and PTSD, in addition to migraines. She also alleges sexual harassment and racial discrimination and is seeking damages, including unpaid wages and lost earnings.
On the other hand, a Lizzo representative quickly denied these claims, claiming that the accuser and Lizzo “have never actually met or even spoken.”
Lizzo is currently facing a lawsuit from three former backup dancers (Ariana Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noel Rodriguez), who filed suit against Lizzo and others in August, alleging body-shaming and sexual harassment.
