In the trial in which actor Johnny Depp sued his ex-wife Amber Heard for defamation, Amber alleged sexual assault by Johnny, and the representatives of both parties hurriedly issued statements.
Johnny Depp’s Representative Comments on Allegations of Sexual Assault
Amber Heard, the ex-wife of actor Johnny Depp, who was sued for defamation by Johnny Depp, also an actor, claimed that she was raped by Johnny with a bottle of alcohol at the trial held on May 5, local time, and Johnny’s representative issued an urgent statement.
During the trial, Amber tearfully recounted how Johnny repeatedly inserted a bottle of liquor into her genitals, making her fear that the bottle was broken, and how she subsequently bled from her genitals, but was in such emotional shock that she could not feel the pain.
As Mr. Depp’s attorney correctly predicted in his opening statement last month, Ms. Heard gave the very ‘best performance of her life’ on direct examination.” While Ms. Heard’s story continues to grow with new and convenient details, Mr. Depp’s recollections have not changed at all in the six painful years since her initial allegations were made. His truth-that is, the truth-never changes in any environment. The upcoming cross-examination by Mr. Depp’s team will be of utmost importance and will reveal that Ms. Heard, in her convoluted testimony, is trying to say something that is not true.”
Amber Heard’s representative quickly responded
After the comments by Johnny’s representative were released, Amber’s representative issued a statement.
As you can see from the statement released, Mr. Depp’s defamation claim is rapidly falling apart, and his attorneys are turning from prosecutors to persecutors. They boast that Mr. Depp’s story has not changed. If that is the case, then, having lost both the protective order (under civil law) and the libel case in the UK, they should consider a new strategy rather than the traditional one of attacking the victim and not taking responsibility for their own actions. If Mr. Depp is truly innocent, why did he repeatedly apologize to Ms. Heard and promise to ‘drive the monster (in him) away forever’? The disease of inability to distinguish between fact and fiction has spread to his defense team. The very same defense lawyers are panicking and thoroughly fighting to prevent the introduction of compelling evidence and photographs. No wonder Mr. Depp has been scribbling and snickering and not daring to look Mr. Heard in the face throughout the trial, as he did in the UK trial. Apparently, they feel they must further reinforce their clearly losing two-part strategy of distracting the jury and demonizing the victim.”
The “British trial” mentioned in the statement refers to a trial in which Johnny sued the publisher of The Sun, a popular British newspaper, for defamation in 2020 for calling him a “wife-beater,” and although Johnny presented various evidence to deny the allegations made against him, the court found that The Sun The court dismissed Johnny’s lawsuit, finding that The Sun’s report that Johnny had been violent toward Amber was “not substantially contrary to the facts.
As we have reported daily, Johnny is seeking approximately $50 million in damages for an op-ed Amber wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, claiming it was defamatory. In the op-ed, Amber did not name Johnny, but she accused him of domestic violence in a manner that identified him as Johnny. Johnny, on the other hand, denies his own allegations of DV and claims that Amber was the one who did the violence.
