Johnny’s female attorney, who presented the closing arguments, strongly denied that Amber’s claim that she is a domestic violence victim is “nihilistic and defamatory.”

Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for damages, claiming that Amber Heard’s contributions published by the Washington Post in 2018 were defamatory against him.

The civil trial began on April 11 local time in Fairfax, VA, U.S.A. The trial lasted over a month, and on May 27, Johnny and Amber’s lawyers presented their closing arguments and the jury began its review.

In court that day, Camille Vazquez, Johnny’s female attorney, said, “In fact, there is an abuser in this courtroom, but it is not Mr. Depp. There is a victim of domestic violence in this courtroom, and it is not Ms. Heard,” and accused Amber of distorting her claims of domestic violence.

She added, “She is a deeply troubled person. She is intensely afraid of being abandoned and is desperate for attention and approval,” she continued.

The overwhelming evidence and the weight of the evidence show that this is not Ms. Heard’s story. This is a very cruel act, not only to Mr. Depp, but also to the true victims of domestic violence. Ms. Heard’s pretense that he is a public figure representing victims of domestic violence is nihilistic, defamatory, and irreparably damaging.”

Meanwhile, Amber’s attorney Ben Rottenborn told the jury, “Mr. Depp cannot prove to you all that he has never abused Amber,” and said that unless Johnny can prove that he has never abused Amber, she will win.

He added, “To rule against Amber would send the message that no matter what you do as a victim of abuse, you always have to do more,” he argued.
