Billie Eilish has revealed a behind-the-scenes look at her Coachella performance that has become the talk of the town.
Billie Eilish was the headliner for the first day of Coachella, a large-scale outdoor music festival held in the United States in April this year. Billie was the youngest headliner in the festival’s history, and he generously performed his hit songs on stage. He also gave a special performance with guests such as Hayley Williams, Damon Albarn, known as the frontman of Blur and Gorillaz, and Khaled.
Billie revealed a big secret about the “Coachella” stage, which ended in a great success.
In an interview with Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music 1, Billie revealed that he used a “body double” at the beginning of his Coachella performance.
A body double is when a major performer in a movie or drama is unable to perform a particular scene for some reason, and another person doubles for him or her, acting as if that performer were the one performing the scene.
Billie confesses, “At the beginning of Coachella, I used one of my dancers as a body double for the show. I dressed her in a look from a show I had done before. I bought a black wig, put it in a bun, gave her a mask and sunglasses, and she wore my shoes and socks.
I put her in the back of the stage and she stood there until the lights came on and everyone thought it was me. And nobody knew it wasn’t me, literally nobody knew. And while she was there, I was wearing a big black coat and a traffic vest and a hood, and just wearing glasses.”
Later in the interview, when asked if Billie had ever disguised himself to be noticed to watch other musicians perform, he replied, “Yeah, but it didn’t work because I was a different person at the time. But sometimes I’ve done it in different places, and when I can do that, it’s a really beautiful thing,” he said, revealing that he tries to avoid people making a fuss.
