Linda Evangelista, 57, the original supermodel, announced that she has settled her lawsuit regarding a botched cosmetic surgery procedure. Linda revealed that the failed procedure “left her looking cruel and withdrawn,” and she had filed a lawsuit seeking damages from Zeltiq, the company that researched and developed the medical device.
The CoolSculpting case has been settled.
Linda Evangelista released a statement on her Instagram page on April 19, stating that the lawsuit she filed against Zeltiq for the failure of a fat cooling slimming treatment (CoolSculpting) she had received in the past has been settled.
She said, “I am delighted that the CoolSculpting case has been settled. I look forward to walking through the next chapter of my life with my friends and family. And I am happy that this issue is a thing of the past.”
She concluded by writing, “I sincerely appreciate all the support I have received from those who have reached out to me.
Many followers sent hearts and applause emojis to the happy news from Linda, as well as these congratulatory comments.
‘So glad to hear the good news! Congratulations.”
Linda: “Well done, Linda. Sending you love.”
Everyone is rooting for you. Because your beauty transcends everything.”
Last September, Linda confessed on her Instagram that a past fat-cooling slimming treatment (CoolSculpting) left her looking cruel.
The treatment was performed seven times between August 2015 and February 2016, using the Zeltiq, a medical device researched and developed in the United States. Three months later, however, she said that the area she expected to see a tightening effect had swelled significantly and had become hard and numb.
When diagnosed by a doctor, she was told that she had developed “Peculiar Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH),” a condition in which large lumps of fat form. This left Linda in a state of deep sadness and self-loathing, saying that she had been left “in a state of cruelty,” and she was forced to live in hiding.
In order to overcome her suffering and move forward, Linda filed a lawsuit against Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc., the parent company of CoolSculpting, seeking $50 million in damages.
In February of this year, she appeared on the cover of “People” magazine, where she showed the part of her body that had failed in cosmetic surgery and confessed nakedly about the experience that had changed her life.
Furthermore, on the 16th of this month, she had just announced her return to modeling by showing a photo of her collaboration with the Italian brand Fendi on her Instagram.
A source for “People” had this to say about Linda’s decision to move forward.
‘With the settlement and the recent ‘Fendi’ ad campaign set in stone, Linda is ready to move on. After literally years of hiding, she has come out of hiding. She feels well-liked and loved by the industry, other supermodels, and her fans.”
