Popular rapper Kanye West expressed his dissatisfaction with sports manufacturer Adidas.

Kanye recently took to Instagram to voice his dissatisfaction with the retailer responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of his billion-dollar Yeezy brand (all of Kanye’s Instagram posts have now been deleted).

July 2 is “Yeezy Day,” a day when Adidas sells new and restocked styles at retail prices, but before the annual shopping event, Kanye claimed that Adidas did not listen to him.

Kanye commented, “Adidas created the idea for Yeezy Day without my approval.” He also claimed that Adidas delayed the production of the Yeezy Gap partnership with Balenciaga. He also claimed that Kanye prevented him from releasing shoes as part of the collaboration, even though his contract allowed him to design casual shoes outside of the Adidas umbrella.

Speaking of Kanye, he also expressed his anger at Adidas in June of this year. Kanye posted a photo of his new beige Adidas Adilette 22 sandals on Instagram. Kanye claimed that the design was “ripped off” from his apparel brand Yeezy.

In it, Kanye said, “This is Ye (Kanye). He cited the name of Kobe Bryant, an NBA player who had a contract with Adidas in the past but terminated it, and hinted at the end of his own contract with Adidas.

Page Six reports that Kanye’s contract with Adidas expires in 2026.
