Halle Bailey, who plays Ariel in Disney’s live-action version of “The Little Mermaid,” has revealed his feelings about the public reaction to the trailer.

 

Released in 1991, the classic animated film “The Little Mermaid” helped to establish the second golden age of Disney films and has become a cornerstone of its history. The theme song “Under the Sea” won an Academy Award for Best Song, and composer Alan Menken, now known as a master of Disney music, also won an Academy Award for Best Original Score. The live-action version of the film was unveiled at the D23 Expo. The role of Ariel was played by promising new actress Halle Bailey, who won the role in an audition to the director’s great acclaim. The film was a big hit on social networking sites, as it was the first time that the talented singer would be seen as Ariel.

The film also stars Jonah Hauer King as Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Eartha, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as Flander, Oakwafina as Scuttle, and David Diggs as Sebastian. The film is a great success.

 

The Little Mermaid” will be released in theaters throughout Japan in early summer 2023.
