The image went viral so quickly that Chloe is now suffering from body dysmorphia, a mental disorder that causes her to spend hours each day worrying about the major flaws in her own body appearance.
In a recent interview with Hunger magazine, Chloe said of that time, “It was a picture of me walking into a hotel with a pizza box in my hand. It was compared to the Family Guy character with the long legs and short copper, and it was spread. I think it was the most widespread image at the time,” she recalled. “People thought I was making fun of my body shape. I tried to tell them how hard it was, but they said, ‘That’s okay, it’s funny. They said, ‘It’s funny,'” she said, confessing that she did not receive any support from those around her.
“I remember just sitting there and saying, ‘My body type is being used as a joke. But it’s not something I can change. I was just thinking, ‘I’m being used as a joke, but it’s not something I can change, and it’s been posted on Instagram a lot,'” she said. But now I can’t help but remember that image,” she said, revealing that she is still struggling with it.
Chloe has been completely removed from the public since then. I was able to escape the paparazzi, be myself, and have a lot of experiences. But at the same time, I became afraid of being photographed,” she confides. When a camera is pointed at her, her heart rate increases and she begins to hyperventilate.
I think it’s probably body dysmorphia, which is a problem we all have now that social networking has become a part of our society,” Chloe says.
