Elton John and Britney Spears have collaborated on a new song, “Hold Me Closer,” which has reached #1 on radio airplay charts in the UK, Europe, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Hong Kong, Japan (Western music), and everywhere else. A remixed version of the song by British DJ/producer Joel Corey was released on October 7.

Hold Me Closer” was released on August 26, 2022, and reached No. 1 on the iTunes Store in 40 countries, including the U.K. and the U.S. It reached No. 1 in Australia and Canada, No. 3 in the U.K., No. 6 in the U.S., and No. 1 on the U.S. Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart (as of October 8, 2022), and in Japan it was No. 1 on J-WAVE’s (81.3 FM) “TOKIO In Japan, it was No. 1 on J-WAVE’s (81.3 FM) “TOKIO HOT 100” for two consecutive weeks (9/25 and 10/2) and on ZIP FM’s “ZIP HOT 100″ for three consecutive weeks (9/18, 9/25 and 10/2).
Hold Me Closer” was produced by Andrew Watt (known for producing several songs on Elton’s latest album, “Lockdown Sessions,” Eddie Vedder, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, and others), and Elton John’s most iconic hit “Pretty Dancer (Dedicated to Maxine),” a modern-day revival of one of his most famous songs, plus “The One” (originally titled “The One”) and “Love Duet” (originally titled “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”), elements of classic songs from his legendary catalog.
