Behind the Scenes of the Cannibalistic Horror Love Story

Timothée Chalamet’s re-teaming with Luca Guadagnino, director of his masterpiece “Call Me By Your Name,” for the film “Bones and All” has attracted a lot of attention, but there is another reason for the buzz. That is the film’s theme of cannibalism.

Although he has appeared in a variety of films, Timothy, who has a strong image as a fresh young man, shows a different face in this horror film. On the other hand, this film also has a large element of a love story. Taylor Russell and Timothy, who have a secret that those around them do not understand, bond with each other as they travel around the United States in the 1980s.

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 23. The trailer has already been released, and even though it is a love story, it has quite a strong horror film feel to it; we can see the two of them covered in blood, and there is probably a cannibalistic scene. But of course, what they are eating is not real human flesh. On the contrary, it seems that it was quite delicious. Taylor revealed in an interview with U.S./Film.

‘Technically, Luke said that what we were eating was corn syrup. But I knew it wasn’t. Because I was told by the wonderful effects team that managed those things that it was maraschino cherries (candied cherries), dark chocolate, and Fruit Roll-Ups (an American candy). If that sounds good, good. If it didn’t, understandable. But that stuff was very sweet and tasted better than anything you could imagine.”

It seems that the human flesh was finished with a combination of foods that were quite sweet. Eating something sweet while thinking it was meat might confuse you and make you unable to taste it, and the level of sweetness seems quite high, but Taylor, who says it tasted better than anything else, must have a sweet tooth. I wonder what Timothy thought of it.

Incidentally, Timothy said of his appearance in this film, “It was a relief to play a character who is struggling with a dilemma in his mind and looking for his place in the world without the means to use Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok. This film is not necessarily a horror film whose sole purpose is to scare people. The film has not yet been released in Japan, but we hope to see it someday.
