Balenciaga outraged hundreds of people online when it posted a photo of a child holding a teddy bear in a BDSM outfit. The photo shoot was handled by Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti.

Balenciaga recently issued a statement apologizing for the photo shoot and suggesting legal action against Gabriele Galimberti and other parties involved.

‘We sincerely apologize for any discomfort our holiday campaign may have caused. Our stuffed bear bags should not have appeared with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed this campaign from all platforms.””We take this matter very seriously and have decided to take legal action against the responsible parties who created the set for the Spring ’23 campaign photo shoot, including the unauthorized items. We strongly condemn the abuse of children in any form. We stand up for the safety and well-being of children,” the statement continued.
According to the Daily Dot, Gabriel Galimberti was promoting the image as part of a series of projects called “Toy Stories,” as if to quote the Disney/Pixar film series.
