Prince Harry told the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan” that he was “prevented” from meeting his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in January 2020, when the royal family was in turmoil over the departure from the royal family.

Prince Harry informed Queen Elizabeth of the specific dates when he returned to England from Canada, where he was staying at the time. We had talked about it a lot,” he said, adding, “(When I told her I was going back to England), she said she didn’t have any plans for the week. So I said, ‘Well, why don’t you come to my place? Let’s have a cup of tea. Why don’t you stay with Megan?’ She said, ‘I’m going to meet Queen Elizabeth,'” he confessed.

However, shortly after arriving in England, Prince Harry received an urgent message from Queen Elizabeth’s entourage, saying, “I cannot meet Her Majesty the Queen. She is very busy and all her appointments for this week are booked”.

I thought that was the opposite of what my grandmother had told me,” recalled Prince Harry, “I called my grandmother when I arrived in England. I said, ‘They told me you were busy,’ and she said, ‘Well, I guess so. I didn’t even know she was busy. But they said I was busy. She replied, ‘I’ve been told I’m busy all week. I was surprised,” she said, revealing that she was shocked.

Incidentally, Meghan commented on the incident, “What a surprise. I thought the family and the family business were in direct conflict. They prevented me from meeting the queen. At the same time, they prevented the grandchildren from meeting their grandmother.”
