House of Representatives Speaker Finally Voted on for the 15th Time

The House of Representatives has been in an unusual situation where the Speaker of the House of Representatives has not been chosen, but the 15th vote has finally settled the issue.

McCarthy received a majority of 216 votes in the 15th round of voting.

In the U.S. House of Representatives, the Republican majority was split in the vote to choose the Speaker of the House, and House Majority Leader McCarthy, who leads the Republican Party, was unable to obtain the required majority of the votes.

On January 6, the fourth day of voting for the Speaker of the House, the Republicans continued to persuade and negotiate with the rebellious members of the House, and McCarthy was elected as the new Speaker of the House with a majority of 216 votes in the 15th round of voting.

Of the 20 members of Congress who had continued to rebel, 14 voted for McCarthy.

It was the first time since 1923, 100 years ago, that the vote to choose the Speaker was a recount, and the first time since 1859, before the Civil War, that the vote had been held more than 10 times.
