Austin Majors died of a drug overdose.

The NYPD Blue, a detective drama set in New York City, ran for 12 seasons from 1993 to 2005. Austin Majors, who played Theo, the son of Andy Sipowitz, the main character played by Dennis Franz in the popular “NYPD Blue,” a regular Emmy Award winner that has won over 20 awards including Best Picture, passed away at the young age of 27.

Although Austin was an actor, he had moved into a facility for the homeless in Los Angeles, and according to the Los Angeles County Coroner and Medical Examiner, he died in that temporary housing facility.

Austin’s cause of death was a drug overdose, and his family revealed that they are currently investigating a suspected fentanyl poisoning, but the Los Angeles County Coroner is currently “awaiting additional investigation” to determine the official cause of death.

The family of Austin, who died young, said, “Austin Majors (Setmeyer Raglin) was an artistic, intelligent, and kind human being. Austin took great joy and pride in his acting career.

From a young age, he treated everyone like a friend, and his goal in life was to make people happy. He grew up in a small town and loved camping and fishing with his family and Boy Scout troop, his dog Sunny, and his horse Rose, whom he rode from an early age.

In high school, he graduated as valedictorian while being an active Eagle Scout and community member. I then graduated from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts with a passion for directing and music production,” he said in a statement to Fox NewsDigital.
