Asteroid City, the latest film directed and written by Wes Anderson, has been selected in Competition at the 76th Cannes International Film Festival!
Furthermore, the film will be released in the US on 23 June 2023 (Friday).
The film has already attracted attention in Japan, where it ranked first in trends on Filmarks, one of the largest film review services in Japan, immediately after the trailer was released in the US. The director won four Academy Awards(R) for The Grand Budapest Hotel (14) and the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival for Inugashima (18). Wes Anderson is a genius director who continues to captivate audiences with his unique world view. The screenplay is written by Wes and his close friend Roman Coppola, with whom he has collaborated for the first time since Moonrise Kingdom (2012). The film is a must-see for fans, filled with Wes’s unique worldview.
The cast includes Jason Schwartzman, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton and Adrien Brody, all familiar faces from Wes’ films, as well as Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Steve Carell and Willem Defoe. The cast will co-star.
