Don’t miss the too-cute Ariana in a pink dress!

The latest visuals of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in the film Wicked have been released and have become the talk of the town.

Wicked is the story of the unlikely friendship between Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, in The Wizard of Oz.

Based on Gregory Maguire’s Wicked, published in 1995, it was performed as the musical Wicked on Broadway in New York in 2003. It has been a popular and well-loved work for the next 20 years.

In Japan, it was first performed by the Shiki Theatre Company in 2007 and has been performed in various locations until 2016.

In the film version of Wicked, to be released in 2024, Glinda will be played by popular singer and actress Ariana Grande (29) and Elphaba by actress Cynthia Erivo (36).

John M. Chow, who directed the film, first revealed the visuals of the film via his social networking site on Sunday 16 April. The two photos posted show Elphaba, the witch, wearing a pitch-black pointy hat and pitch-black clothes, astride a broom, and Glinda, wearing a pink dress, walking up a flight of stairs.

John M. Chow wrote in this post: ‘Not all the story has been revealed. Wonder what happens when you get off the Yellow Brick Road*?” He continued, “First look at the film version of ‘Wicked’. Currently in production in the world of Oz”, adding.

The post was followed by a comment from star Cynthia, who said, “The magic we can create with you is really very, very wonderful.

The two-part theatrical version of Wicked is scheduled to be released in the US in November 2024 for part one and in December 2025 for part two.
