Actor Armie Hammer is known for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Call Me By Your Name.
His sexual assault allegations are currently being investigated by the LA District Attorney, Page Six reports.
According to reports, the Los Angeles Police Department has handed over the investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Armie to the District Attorney. Details of the investigation are still unclear, but a woman identified as Effie held a press conference with her lawyer in March 2021 and accused Armie of rape.
She confessed that Armie raped her when she was 20 years old (24 April 2017). She also said that she was repeatedly slammed in the face against a wall, resulting in bruises. She also revealed that the experience caused her to contemplate suicide. At the time of this relationship, Armie was married to his now estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers.
She also alleged that Armie abused her ‘mentally, emotionally and sexually’ during their four-year relationship.
Armie vehemently denies the allegations. Armie’s lawyers claim that all interactions and sexual activity with Effie from the day their relationship began were fully consensual.
Speaking to Air Mail for the first time after the row, Armie revealed that he was suicidal: ‘I just wanted to go out to sea, swim as far as I could, drown, get run over by a boat or be eaten by a shark. He continued, “Then I realised that my children were still on shore and I knew I couldn’t do that to them.”
However, after this interview with Armie, Effie hit back. In a post on her Instagram Story, she claimed that Armie was now doing whatever it takes to elicit sympathy from the public.
