The latest MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy: VOLUME 3, which opened in the US on 5 May, is the first MCU film to feature the banned “F-word” in the film, which has become a hot topic.

Marvel Studios released a preview of some of the scenes ahead of the film’s release last month, and the preview video on YouTube shows the Guardians getting into their car and heading out on a mission, with Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill opening the car door. Quill, played by Chris Pratt, is shown teaching Nebula, played by Karen Gillan, how to open a car door, which she is struggling to open.

However, as an alien, Nebula is unfamiliar with opening a car door, which is her mode of transport on Earth. After teaching Nebula how to open the door by pressing the button, she asks, “Now what?” Peter, in a moment of desperation, tells Nebula: “Open the fucking door! .

Director James Gunn reveals why.

This is the first time the F-word has appeared in a Disney-owned MCU film in a play. When asked by a fan on Twitter why he used the F-word in the play, director James Gunn replied.

‘In a PG13 rated film you can only put one word in. However, this was not what we had planned. I told Chris on set to add it and it made the scene more funny, so we decided to keep it.’

The F-word was used in the film because “it was funnier”, an over-simplistic reason that is typical of the series, which also features the funny slapstick of the Guardians! Guardians of the Galaxy: VOLUME 3 will depict the “final battle” of the Guardians. When you watch the film, which is now in US theatres, pay attention to this historic line.
