The day after the coronation of King Charles of the British Royal Family, a celebratory concert was held at Windsor Castle outside London. The celebratory concert, which was watched by members of the Royal Family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, was hosted by actor Hugh Bonneville, best known for his role as the Earl of Grantham in the drama Downton Abbey and Henry in the film Paddington, and included singers Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, Take That and others performed.

Actor Tom Cruise, who had previously been announced to perform at the celebratory concert, made a video appearance, flying his own fighter jet as he did in the film Top Gun, saying: ‘Pilot to pilot. Your Majesty, you can always be my wingman,” he said in a congratulatory message to King Charles. King Charles had trained as a pilot when he was a prince, joining the Royal Navy and Air Force.

Incidentally, Tom attended an event last year to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s reign, where he delivered a speech in honour of the Queen. Queen Elizabeth was unable to meet Tom in public as she was absent from the event, but it is reported that the Queen, who said she was very disappointed not to be able to meet him, later invited him to Windsor Castle, where they hit it off and secretly developed a friendship.
