Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has commented on the rumour on the street that if you finish a chicken barrel within 60 minutes, you can get a “free refill”.
How to get a free refill of Kentucky chicken goes viral
A rumour is spreading around the internet that if you finish a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) chicken barrel within 60 minutes, you can get a free refill. The trigger was a video posted by a man called Allen Ferrell, who has more than 3.5 million followers on TikTok, titled ‘KFC allows customers to get another chicken barrel if they ask’.
The video shows Allen, after finishing a barrel containing eight pieces of original chicken, going to the shop counter with the empty barrel and asking the waiter for a refill, and the waiter refilling the barrel with chicken and handing the barrel to Allen, saying, “Enjoy your second meal”. The video was shown.
The source of the video is unknown, but the video states that the refill is only applicable for 60 minutes from the time of purchase. You can make a request in a normal queue at the shop counter. You will need to show your receipt at that time. The video also introduces a “refill rule”, which states: “The refill becomes invalid once you have left the restaurant”.
If true, this would be a dream come true. People who watched the video asked: ‘Is this true? We need to check with KFC employees”, while KFC’s official Twitter page responded to the information being spread on TikTok. The official KFC Twitter page responded: ‘Bad news: the rumour about free refills of barrels is false.’
The bad news: the free bucket refill rumor is a lie.
The good news: we have a special offer for $10 buckets in our app. And we’ve added some fun emojis to the end of this tweet 🥰✨🤝
