A film crew member revealed that on the set of his last film, before he was diagnosed with aphasia, Bruce sometimes forgot he was on the film set.

According to Alicia Haverland, who was in charge of props for the crime thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass (2021), which was filmed in 2020, Bruce’s aphasia was quite bad at the time of filming the movie and at times he appeared to forget he was on the set. The film was shot in the UK, and the film was shot in the UK.

This was discussed in the new documentary The Randall Scandal, which focuses on the various allegations against producer and director Randall Emmett. It is alleged that Randall allowed Bruce to appear in five films despite being aware of his deteriorating health. (Randall himself later denied the allegations.)

During the filming of Midnight in the Switchgrass, Haverland says he poured Bruce coffee for a new scene. However, Bruce did not understand that she was on set and thought she was a waitress at a diner.

‘I went to pour (Bruce) coffee again. (Then) we were probably doing take seven to take eight, and he put his hand over his coffee and looked at me with dead eyes and said, ‘No, ma’am. I don’t want it anymore.'”

Haverland tried to explain to Bruce that she was refilling his cup for the scene, but he couldn’t understand it and asked her if she had ordered more coffee.

Haverland therefore pretended to be a waitress in order to finish the filming successfully and told her that Bruce had ordered more coffee. Haverland also said she was “heartbroken” to see Bruce’s behaviour.

Haverland has previously revealed that Bruce was struggling with action scenes during the filming of Midnight in the Switchgrass.

Last March, Bruce’s wife Emma Hemming, ex-wife Demi Moore and their five children (Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel and Evelyn) announced via Instagram that Bruce has “aphasia” and is retiring from acting because of it. In February this year, they revealed that Bruce had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
