In his upcoming memoir, “Pageboy,” Elliot Page writes, “The first person I fell in love with after my heartbreak was Kate Mara. She continued, “She had a boyfriend at the time, the lovely and talented Max Minghella.”

Elliot and Kate became friends while Elliot was filming “X-Men: Days of Future Past. Elliot also claimed that Max was supportive of him and Kate exploring their feelings for each other. And Kate said at the time that she didn’t think she could fall in love with the two of them, but now she knows she can.
Elliot further explained that their romance happened shortly after he came out as gay in February 2014. Elliot wrote, “It was a time of exploration and also a time of heartbreak.” He later came out as transgender in December 2020.
Page revealed that he and Kate are still close, writing, “I think the love and care we have for each other is special in its own way.” He also revealed that Kate is reading the new book and will be appearing with him at a promotional event in Los Angeles this month.
Kate and Max broke up in 2014 after four years of dating.
