The romantic comedy “Red, White & Royal Blue,” about the son of a U.S. president and a British prince, will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on August 11 (Fri.).

Amazon Prime Video will exclusively distribute “Red, White & Royal Blue,” an Amazon Original Movie based on the New York Times bestselling novel, in more than 240 countries and regions starting Friday, August 11. The Japanese version of the key visual and the US version of the trailer have been unveiled for the first time.

Alex Claremont-Diaz (played by Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of America’s first female president (played by Uma Thurman), and Prince Henry of England (played by Nicholas Galitzine) have many things in common. Overwhelming good looks, undisputed charisma, international popularity…and a mutual disdain for each other.

 

But a terrible altercation between the two at a royal event becomes a tabloid story, and it causes a rupture in the U.S.-British relationship at the worst possible time. The two families and those responsible for the situation, planning to somehow repair the situation, force the two rivals to come to a “truce. But as Alex and Henry’s fraught relationship begins to unravel and an unexpected friendship begins to develop, the rift between the two spark something deeper than anticipated–a relationship that is to last a lifetime.

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Casey McQuiston, “Red, White & Royal Blue” is the feature film writing and directing debut of playwright Matthew Lopez, who won a Tony Award for his Broadway production of “Inheritance.

 

Prince Henry of England is played by Nicholas Galitzine, who also played the Prince in the Amazon Original Movie “Cinderella”; Taylor Zakhar Perez, the breakout star of “The Kissing Booth” as Alex, the son of the President of the United States; the first female American Uma Thurman of “Kill Bill” and “Les Miserables” as President Ellen; Ellie Bamber of “The Nutcracker and the Secret Kingdom” as Princess Beatrice of England; Sarah Shahi of “The L Word” as Zahara, Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States, Prince Henry’s best friend and heir to a major corporation Malcolm Atbula of “Rye Lane” as Percy, and Rachel Hilson of “My Sunshine” as Nora, Alex’s best friend and grandson of the Vice President of the United States.
